Brian Jones, CPGA

Originally from Carleton Place, located in the Ottawa Valley, Brian's passion for the game of golf came at a very young age.  As a junior player, Brian enjoyed a very successful career at Mississippi Golf Club, winning the Ottawa Valley Junior of the Year in 1998.

Brian built experience in the golf industry by working as a Golf Shop attendant at Eagle Creek Golf Course, home of the Canadian Tour Championship from 2000 to 2003.

In 2004 Brian made the move to Toronto and pursued his diploma in Business Administration in Professional Golf Management at Humber College. After graduation, Brian obtained his PGA of Canada Class A status in 2008, and due to his extensive knowledge of the game, became one of the sought out teachers at St. Georges Golf and Country Club, one of Canada's top ranked Golf Clubs. Brian enjoyed a very successful career at St. Georges for seven years, and also had the pleasure of working at the Canadian Open in 2010.

2017 is Brian's sixth season with Carrying Place and he is always pleased to service the members of Carrying Place and their guests.

Assistant Golf Professional

James Augustin, CPGA

James passion for golf started at the young age of 3. He knew he was going to make golf a full time career as well as pursue a dream to be a playing professional. This is his 7th season at Carrying Place working in the Golf Shop. He achieved his professional status in 2013 and is working his way to get his class "A" to become a head golf professional. He has worked at many golf courses, Station Creek, Cardinal, Eagles Nest as well as retail stores in the golf industry and enjoys working at Carrying Place.  James always enjoys sharing his passion for the game with the Members and Guests of Carrying Place Golf and Country Club.

Ian Weston

Ian is in his seventh season at Carrying Place Golf & Country Club as a Golf Shop Assistant.  Ian takes great pride in satisfying members and guests requirements.  He is presently studying at Durham College in the Golf Facility Operations Management Program. He is working towards gaining his Candidate status within the CPGA. Ian has an immeasurable passion for the game of golf and the people who play it.

Mitch Pfenning

Mitch started in the golf industry at Mill Run Golf & Country Club as a range attendant then joined Carrying Place eight seasons ago, first with the Outside Operations team then as Golf Shop staff three years ago. 

Mitch completed a 3 year business administration program at St. Lawrence College, with a focus on accounting and marketing. He worked in the Golf Shop at Cataraqui Golf & Country Club for the fall months while attending school in Kingston.  He is currently working towards achieving his CPGA status and continues to learn and expand his knowledge within the golf industry. He has loved his time at Carrying Place with the members and staff and is thrilled about being part of an exciting time at the club.
